New blind school

In December 2019, a sponsor indicated to sponsor the walls, doors and roof of the new school for the blind in Debre Zeit. This was of course big news and therefore a long cherished wish of Mr. Wondimu (director of the school) seems to be fulfilled.

A new school is important: now the school has to move every year or sometimes after two. Of course, this has far-reaching consequences for the children: they have to learn everything again and every step they take in a new environment can be painful (a step away is really not nice!).

The city council of Debre Zeit had already made land available and now all of a sudden things are moving forward.

On 25 January 2020 we sat down together in Debre Zeit to discuss the next steps. The goal is to equip the new school with:

• 3 classrooms
• 4 bedrooms
• Dining room/library
• Toilet group
• Showers
• Meeting room
• Teacher's room
